I'm using pedophilia to show how much of a slippery slope the phrase "sexual preference is something you're born with" truly is. If sexuality is a decision you actively make, then pedophiles can be held accountable since that was their choice.

Pedophilia was not a choice and I havent done enough search to see if someone had to be born with it or developed it. But homosexuality wasnt the one that was in the book of disorders, the reason pedophilia was there is because it was a harmful attraction while homosexuality

The fact that it's more dangerous than the other one doesn't make it a mental disorder. It just makes it a crime. Both are sexual attractions. One is just more harmful than the other. That isn't a sign of a mental disorder.

Once again, what you're saying is basically what the homophobes were saying in the 60's about gay people, that it was a disorder and it could be treated though therapy. You have become the very thing you swore to destroy.

You can try and use all of these mental gymnastics to justify why one is born with a sexual preference, or you could just say "it's a choice that a person makes. The end."
