I heard back then that Nintendo and Sony made a deal to make an CD addon to the SNES called the "Playstation" later Nintendo broke up the deal to work with PHILLIPS and make 4 games for the CD-i (Yes, I'm talking about THOSE games) so this might be an alternate timeline where Nintendo didn't break the deal :O
