Pretty cheesy business pre-checking the box. I wonder how many folks didn't notice that and how much money they lost as a result.

Loads of unsuspecting people got scammed last year by that and filed fraud claims with their banks and credit card companies. The Trump campaign was forced to refund $122.7M worth of donations back in relation to over 200,000 disputed transactions. The NYT first broke that story in April 2020 and throughout the year many more articles appeared regarding both Trump's scam and the fact that other GOP camps began doing the exact same thing. By all accounts, they're still doing it.
