Here's a poll for you. Gallup finds that about 50% of Americans are Democrats or Democrat leaning voters, while about 40% are Republican or Republican leaning. At a time when both parties will be trying to attract unaffiliated and independent voters, the party of Trump is alienating traditional, conservatives by supporting extremist's "primarying," incumbents and other divisive acts, the mid-term blahs that should haunt the Democrats, are less likely. The first rule to winning elections is to attract more new voters than you alienate. It is hard to imagine anyone not knowing where Trump stands. The likelihood that any significant number of people will be attracted to him or his "in your face," followers, is not great. The greatest gift that Biden could get is Trump as an opponent.
