Hello all. This is where the Constitution of IMGFLIP_PRESIDENTS shall be created. Anyone and everyone is invited to provide their input and their thoughts of what should be in the Constitution. Unlike past drafts that were written by a single user, this Constitution shall be made by the people in one big collaborative community project, all in the comment section of this image. This is the Constitution of IMGFLIP_PRESIDENTS. Not the Common Sense Constitution. Not the RUP Constitution. The IMGFLIP_PRESIDENTS Constitution.

This is the definitive basis and framework for the rules of this stream; the principles and precedents for the government of this community. The only rules are to keep it relevant to the stream and within the Imgflip site Terms of Use. While light-hearted humour is appreciated, let's please try to keep the proposals serious, genuine, and unironic. It's also worth noting that this is a Constitution for how the government of this stream will function, not a political manifesto, so please don't bother trying to sneak in right-wing or left-wing politics and opinions or whatever.

For the first draft, we will have one week to write this, and any disputes will be settled by a vote. The stream rules at the time of writing this comment were here: https://imgflip.com/i/5tflxx which means that the first draft of this Constitution will have to go through Congress, the Senate, and the President (as is outlined by the rules the stream had at the time of writing). If this Constitution is ratified by the system of government in place at the time of writing, all future amendments to this Constitution will have to be passed by the system outlined in whatever the current draft is.

So go crazy. Share your thoughts. Because here on IMGFLIP_PRESIDENTS, the people decide the rules for the government, not the other way around. That's right – YOU decide.

Yours sincerely, President IncognitoGuy.

Screw off. The current constitution was written by at least 2 people (myself and OlympianProduct) and at this point I can't remember what all parts of it I changed because of people's suggestions way back in April or whenever it was. Held a couple conventions myself for people's input, and so did OlympianProduct. So... I don't know what you're going on about that it was only written by 1 person with no stream input.

And if I recall correctly, you were the sole* (copied large chunks of my original version) author of not 1, but 2 constitutions, so why should you be trusted to get it right this time?

Oh I had a ton of input for the Common Sense Constitution. First off, I started with one of the drafts of one of the AUP Constitutions and kept everything that a proper constitution would have, so we got AUP’s input. I held at least a few Constitutional conventions to get input from the community, and we got a lot of input from Nerd Party, so they were a huge part of creating the CSC. Article 14 of the CSC was all Nerd Party, I believe Article 15 was as well. The Holy Crusaders also got the opportunity to look through it as well.

Because it's not me writing this Constitution; it's the stream.

But why should we think that’s what you’re gonna do

Ok great, good luck with that

I agree with re-writing the Constitution in principle. However, after having read the current Constitution, I'm not sure it can be trashed without discussion and a vote. Article 16 Section 4 is pretty clear and unambiguous . Not that the current Constitution should be retained, there are problems with it. BUT. If it was duly voted on and passed, it can't just be discarded without some sort of nearly unanimous process and agreement.

It says that it can't be removed full stop which is why I was hoping the stream owner Scar wouldn't allow it, but it turns out he helped write it which makes this even worse.

I don't see a way around it unless there is unanimous assent. Either: 1-There was some procedural problem with the way the current Constitution was enacted which would make it invalid, or 2- Can it be fixed by Amendment, because those are unlimited, or 3-If by unanimous assent we can re-write it (which I personally like).

The Constitution says amendments can't contradict the current draft so it basically restricts any changes whatsoever, and unanimous assent is impossible thanks to OlympianProduct and SurlyKong69 existing.

I'd be interested in hearing from them on why they think this is a good document and not in need of a re-write.

Cool. Unfortunately, I have no good ideas as of now. I'll come back tomorrow.
