This does seem legit.

I don’t believe everyone should be equal (full communism), but I do believe that Western societies are rich enough to provide every citizen with a basic minimum standard of care.

—A roof over everyone’s heads;
—Food in every belly;
—Universal medical care;
—Childcare provisions and support.

Without the basic necessities of living, true “freedom” is an illusion. You can’t be free if you’re struggling every moment to survive, or if you’re dead.

All financed through taxes, falling principally on the wealthiest.

I like the idea of SocDem, which I would say is your views. That's why I support Welfare Capitalism, with a UBI and to provide for the poorer who can't survive on a regular basis.
