WOULD A TRULY CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION CLAIM WE DON’T NEED CHRIST? [1 of 3] Though they named it “Christian” Science, this pagan religion tells its followers they do not need to be saved—that Jesus will not help them get to heaven. But what is the barebones definition of a Christ-following (Christian) organization? What does it mean to believe in Jesus and why do we need Him? Why did Jesus go to the cross and why is it so important, as well as the fact that He was able to rise from the grave? Why is it a big deal that He came to earth and died for you and me? Why are we even here on earth still waiting for Jesus to come back? The answer is that sin is real and we all do it through our God-given freewill. But sin is an offense against our perfect Creator, who is love and truth, so it carries horrific consequences that we need help with, we need a be rescued from the dilemma that has us headed for hell. We must be saved from our situation, so we can be with God in heaven. With that in mind, how can some group calling itself “Christian” Science say we don't need be saved? They claim we do not need help getting saved through Christ, who suffered the most excruciating death to save a sinful, fallen, degrading creation. Was it for nothing? The Christian Science organization might as well be climbing up on the cross and slapping Jesus in face, claiming, “You weren’t good enough to save us. I guess we will have to do it ourselves.” Completely contrary to the clear Word of God, here is the absolutely crazy way the founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, taught salvation: "Final deliverance from air is not reached through the paths of flowers, not by pinning one's faith without works to another's vicarious effort." That mumbo jumbo was her claiming humans are not saved by relaying on the work of Jesus Christ. Yet, the organization has the audacity to call itself a “Christ-ian” religion.
