Luke's Announcement Template | Should I be worried about needing to sleep with a teddy at night? I had nightmares every night as a young child up until I was 11, and I still do have nightmares about three times a week. I get sad every time I hurt/drop/sit on my teddy by accident, because I am extremely sensitive. My little sister does this too, it isn't a bad thing. It doesn't seem to be affecting her too much.

Now, I might be commenting a fair bit here...but, don't be embarrassed by that...aha...To be awkwardly honest here...I still have my childhood penguin plushie... I've always kept them close by me when I'm asleep.
There's nothing to be ashamed of here.
Yea...it sounds weird for an 18 year old (that being me) to do that....But hey- Who says we have to extremely mature for our age. It's good to be a little childish, and if that's what calms ya. Then hey. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Ah...
I'll show ya an anthro version of the plushie of mine. The first one is how they looed when I got them as a kid on a Farmer's Market. The second is how they look now.
Tbh they look more chubbier irl. Since my art of them is just an antrho version of them.
The wing is slowly falling apart...
But...to be fair...Its sometimes nice to have a plushie by ya. You feel less alone.

You should be concerned about having sleep issues, however needing a plush isn't an issue. Everyone has their own coping methods, and it isn't shameful to need one.

Also, it's always alright for and object to hold significant value to you, no matter how strange or "childish" it may be.

I don't even recognise waking up loads in the night as a problem, despite it being one, because I have become used to it

No, it’s not a concern

It shouldn’t be a problem as long as it doesn’t effect how you function throughout the day I think. If it gets to where anything happening to it causes emotional overload, you might ask your parents to let you see someone about it.

It does cause emotional overload. I literally break down and shame myself every time it happens 😭

I still sleep with my baby blanket and I’m 14. I don’t think it’s a problem. The chronic nightmares, however, you should see someone about
