One of the main goals of communism is the destruction of the family. If someone does not have a family, their only relationship left is with the state. This is why communist (and the modern left, but I repeat myself) love public schools, abortion, and people not getting married/easy divorces.

Also explains their hatred toward God. Used to be if a person didn't have family or even friends, they'd try God at some point.
