Mega Gengar is all about HKOS. It has high stats to get the job done, and against slower pokemon like Palossand, Gengar is very useful. If a pokemon outspeeds, it has a high kill rate and either kills or leaves gengar at low hp. If Gengar can't kill in 1 hit but can in 2 and the opponent can't 1 shot Gengar, roll the credits. But if a pokemon like greninja shows up, roll the credits. Gengar has high potential, but I think hypnosis should land more often.

If hypnosis does land it should last longer, even if it makes dream eater op. My mega gengar has shadow ball sludge bomb hypnosis and dream eater.

Dream eater could go well when paired with a pokemon that knows spore

Machamp's health and defense is high enough to tank moves that don't do a crazy amount of damage that it's weak to. Sludge bomb is 80 power and Fighting isn't weak to Poison. And again, you could poison me and then payback does more if the user is slow (I think) and Machamp can't outspeed Gengar. So with all that, and a 130 attack stat, I should beat you in a fight

He could still tank it because his defense and hp alone is higher than Sludge bomb damage

Machamp has 85 spedefense. Not very promising.
