As somebody who, for many years, was a firearms safety instructor, your point is NOT PERTINENT. It is the absolute responsibility of the person handling the gun to first point it in a safe direction, no matter who has handled it before. The next step is to see if it is loaded while it is pointed in that safe direction. Ordinarily, one never points any gun at anything or anyone that should not be shot but on the set of a Movie I guess there are exception, but only if the person handling the gun has followed the first two steps.
And the finger never goes onto the trigger until one is ready to shoot. And it is also important to analyze the backstop for possible collateral damage.
