That's the whole point (no pun intended) - the points don't matter.

If anything I think we should get achievements for amounts of points, followers, and other things like 10,000th comment or 1,000th comment. Then there could be a button to take you to your “achievement room” and you make make it private for just you to see, or public so everyone can see your achievements.
