Remember when feminists only wanted equality and not superiority over men?

These days, most of the "woke" feminists you see on Twitter and TikTok believe that women are more superior than men and that all men should die. You can see many commentary channels discussing these feminists and making fun of them. I'm not saying it's wrong to make videos like these, I am a fan of many of these commentary channels and quite enjoy watching their videos.

When I first heard of feminism and its history, I thought it was a really awesome and noble cause and I wanted to be a feminist too. But when I saw the posts and videos of these so called "woke feminists", I was ashamed. These people use feminism to gain clout and respect. They use the words "bigoted" and "sexist" to hate on things or people that offend them but don't actually mean to disrespect them.

Feminism is supposed to be about EQUAL rights and EQUALITY, not superiority above men. But superiority above men is what this "woke feminism" preaches. Which is why feminism has gained a bad reputation these days.

I do not blame the people who mock modern feminism for my shame of being a feminist, I blame these woke feminists for giving them a reason to hate feminism, for changing the definition of feminism for their own good and clout.

I'm going to disagree that modern feminism seeks female superiority. And those older feminists (I proudly embrace the term) who were asking to be not legal property, to be able to control their own bodies and bank accounts, were accused of trying to overset the natural order and dominate men.

In every era, people have tried to hold back the rights of oppressed groups by criticizing the way they argue for their rights. Those people generally prove to be on the Wrong Side of History. Today, women (both here in the US and all over the world) still face an uneven playing field in all sorts of social, economic and legal ways. Feminists stand up and work for their equality.

That said, there are some very nutty folks posting on TikTok. Just because some click-hungry influencer claims to be a feminist and has a (clickbait) rant, that shouldn't define your view of feminism.
