I’m shocked you admitted this — pleasantly surprised. I take it then you know something about firearms and combat?

I know a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff. I also know what it takes to be a hero. Neither of your examples fill the bill.

What is a hero? | image tagged in nurse stop calling us heroes | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I personally think heroes are more common than most people think — they’re more likely to say things like “I was just doing my job,” rather than things like “I feared for my life” and making veiled threats of suing the President for defamation within the warm embrace of a Tucker Carlson interview.

The burden that our system placed upon health care professionals over the past year and a half is unprecedented. I’m not going to rule out that COVID nurses were heroes. (Labeling them “heroes” however, to the exclusion of actually lobbying for better pay and working conditions for them, is hypocritical.)

But am I going to rule out the idea that Rittenhouse was a hero? Yep.

I think the term hero is exactly like the term racist; it no longer means anything close to what it originally meant. Neither word has a meaning anymore. I have no one that I truly consider a hero. I have people I admire what they do/did, but that’s as far as it goes. Healthcare people do the job they chose to make a career in. That does not mean they are anything special. I am glad Rittenhouse was correctly found not guilty, but again it’s nothing special.

I have no idea. If it’s a meat sandwich on a long, loaf of bread It’s a sub. Just like to me a coke is any brown carbonated beverage. Kleenex is any facial tissue, Sheetrock is any brand of gypsum board.
