In my family, it is tradition every Thanksgiving, since 1988, to have one child recite the late, great John Candy as Del Griffith, 'You Wanna Hurt Me?' monologue from "Planes, Trains and Automobiles."; Only one elder needs to shed a tear for the child to be welcomed with open arms to sit with the rest of the clan. If that does not occur, then, the child will sit at the kiddie table every Thanksgiving, until the age of 17.
