It's not a pandemic of the unvaccinated, it's a pandemic of the vaccinated. Those who got the shot are more likely to transmit.

I made this for the last person who insisted that vaxxed people are transmitting more disease than unvaxxed.

But here is the Lancet: "Vaccination reduces the risk of delta variant infection and accelerates viral clearance."

The data (reported in many places shows that although vaccinated people can get and transmit Covid, they do it significantly less than unvaccinated people, EVEN with the more infectious Delta variant.

It's a nice graphic, but it only shows that vaccinations lead to a less symptomatic illness, an illness that is 99.99 percent survivable for the healthy population. I work in engineering, and one of the industry complaints is that when we ask for information the entire product manual is thrown at us. Would you do me the courtesy of pointing me to the portion of the article you quote that counters my opinion? Otherwise, I leave here with the same assumption that vaccinated population dont experience as many bad symptoms, and therefore are more likely to assume it's just a cold which leads to transmission of the disease due to negligence. Thanks for helping this uneducated prole understand in advance ;)

The Lancet article that I put in on the bottom gives more specific information on a study done to compare infectiousness of vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

Of note in the very article you quote: "these findings indicate continued risk of infection in household contacts despite vaccination"...its a direct quote, somewhat out of context (admitted), but I've read the surrounding language and still do not see solid and sound evidence of what you propose as counterargument. Help me understand. I will be your ally in pro-vaccination advice if you can convince me.

"The SAR [secondary attack rate] in household contacts exposed to the delta variant was 25% (95% CI 18–33) for fully vaccinated individuals compared with 38% (24–53) in unvaccinated individuals. "

So the vaccine doesn't offer perfect protection, but enough to be statistically significant, even if exposed in a household. Also, because viral load declines faster in vaccinated people than in unvaccinated, they are contagious for a smaller window.

As to people not realizing that they could have a breakthrough infection, that's why we mask (and test, in settings like schools and health care facilities). None of the prevention methods is perfect, but taken together, they make a big difference.
