This is not to be construed to be anti-Japanese or anything. I respect the Japanese people and don’t believe the current generation shold be punished for the crimes of their ancestors (although their government should issue an official apology). However, I have difficulty showing respect to someone who forsakes their own country and their own identity to simp for a country they likely have never even been to.

Okay, I like anime and I like their culture. I like watching their shows. I like eating their food. Pero hindi ko sinabi na mas mahal ko ang kultura ng mga Hapon kaysa sa sarili kong kultura. I have friends who listen to Kpop and watch Kdrama, and they have never said that they like Korean culture more than Filipino culture. They enjoy watching Filipino dramas and listening to OPM too.

I love my country and I am proud to be a Filipino. I like anime, but that does not make me a traitor to my country. Because if that does, that would mean a person who likes watching Hollywood movies would be simping for American culture.
