I used to have those pigtail lightbulbs until a friend who works for a fire department showed me all the pictures he took of house fires that were started by those bulbs overheating. I replaced them all that day.

ive never had a problem with them - hundreds at home and work. but i switched em cause cause even though they lasted a lot longer than incandescents, they do eventually burn out and the LEDs are way better in every way.
