Carter Wrenn, a Republican consultant in North Carolina, outright admitted in 2016 "if African Americans voted overwhelmingly Republican, they [Republican lawmakers] would have kept early voting right where it was".
In that same state, three years prior, the Republicans made it so the only acceptable form of voting was that which was "disproportionately used by white people". A Federal Appeals Court later said about this legislation, that based on data from voting patterns by race, legislators made a law to "target African Americans with almost surgical precision".
24 hour voting was a form of voting that was taken away after the 2020 election because more than half of those who used it were people of color. Same thing with drive-thru voting.
