Chomsky said this in an interview last year — he’s always been really radically pro-free speech, and still is. More pro-free speech than any Imgflip mod or just about anyone.

I think he’s super naive on this point, in an aggressively disinformation- and propaganda-saturated internet age.

Yea his previous work and stance are better, heard a clip recently of him mentioning to isolated non vac ppl by unspecified force and essentially let them starve. Once they are isolated it is their problem to find food. He’s getting pretty old and noticeable in his speech

Well, Covid has killed 700,000+ Americans. This is a serious issue.

However, I didn’t see him say the unvaccinated should be forcibly isolated, rather that they should voluntarily self-isolate. That’s more in keeping with his anarcho-lib beliefs. Of course, no one who resists being vaccinated is going to actually do that voluntarily, so it’s a non-starter of a “solution.”

At this point, with the vaccine that I got months ago providing reliable protection against serious Covid, I don’t really care. This “pandemic” is here to stay and will become endemic. Eventually, once the novelty and Trump-inspired politicization of Covid wears off, I think the rabid anti-vaxxers will get their Covid vaccines the same way most of them already get vaccinated for the flu every year.

Or, they’ll run their risks of contracting Covid and get the antibodies that way, or die.
