Much as I did have a blast with all these surreal Beez-themed campaign ads (that silly bee — what a mascot, huh?).
No, I don’t think it was campaigning — I think it was the fact that Beez vs. Envoy was the first Memechat-era election, and we in the pro-Beez camp all thought it would be a great idea to cold-call our followers to see who could be bothered to spend 5 minutes of their time to vote in an Imgflip election they’d never heard of.
That was before “Voter ID” existed, and before we realized the problems that would arise from having a voter base who never comments or posts on the stream…
