Alec Baldwin

For anyone who doesn't get this, a prop manager gave Alec Baldwin a gun to use on set, but it is unconfirmed that he was or wasn't aware that there was a bullet loaded in the gun. He had the gun and did the cut on set, and while he had the gun, he shot one of the Executive producers and killed her. Yes the gun was real, but couldn't they have been smarter about it and use a prop gun?

In a movie they have 2 types of bullets they use for action movies, one's that just have the gunpowder removed and ones that just have the projectile removed. The projectile from the first one got stuck in the barrel, and the one with powder but no projectile was put in.

Being fair tho they could have removed the firing pin and added muzzle flash with computers like they did in John wick

What I wanna know is why they didn't use blank only firing reproductions. Blank firing only handguns are readily available. Since they can only handle 8mm blanks and don't have a traditional open barrel (in order to improve cycling,) it would be essential impossible to load actual ammunition into them or accidentally shoot someone accidentally.
Why even take the risk?

Apperantly, from the news we get over here, it was a prop.

They set him up real good. And he was just shaking of that scandal with his wife (or so my dad tells me).
