He committed accident.
In this country, one isn't guilty of anything until convicted in a court of law.
At least, that was the country I grew up in.

Apparently, you don't get sarcasm and let's not forget that if this were one of us that committed this accident, Alec Baldwin would be all over it screaming for us to be investigated. Along with his other dingle-berries in Hollywood.

But, I am not Alec Baldwin, therefore I presume he is innocent of malfeasance until I have all of the information and evidence.
THAT is the American way.

It's looking more and more like the whole production (when he was a big part of) was careless and wreckless. But we'll find out soon enough.

You do not point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot.
Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
Keep your weapon on safe until you are ready to shoot.

Not an accident. Kkthnks

It was an accident. There was no bad intent and I'm sure he feels pretty bad about it.
Don't sound like a Leftist.

The guy has been a rabid anti-gun blowhard for years.

Maybe he should have spent a little time learning to respect them. This was completely preventable and is 100% his responsibility as the person holding the weapon.
- always assume a weapon is loaded
- never point it at anything you don't want to possibly kill
- never out your finger on the trigger unless it is pointed at something you want to kill

Learning the difference between blanks and live rounds and checking them himself IMMEDIATELY upon assuming control of the weapon would have been wise. Asking someone knowledgeable if he didn't know would have been wise.

I'm curious as to why live rounds were even present on set in the first place. Who loaded it. How was a person ignorant in the difference between blanks and live allowed to load it. Where and for how long was this loaded weapon stored (even with blanks it is still considered a loaded firearm).

This guy clearly handles guns in a very flippant manner. The same way he assumes actual gun owners do. He's not some kid who stunled across dad's loaded resolver, he's a grown ass man and has had over 50 years of adulthood to learn these basic things.

Not some kid who stumbled across dad's loaded revolver...

Based on the fact it injured two people.

Wadding or bits from a blank aren't going to so that, even at point blank, which this was not considering the injuries (stomach and shoulder).

Common sense would still direct you to my first two points. Assume it's loaded and don't point it towards anything you don't want dead.

Carelessness kills.

Outlining the many, many ways in which this disaster should have been prevented is dar from hysterical. I'm quite calm.

I'm not disagreeing with you but calling for him to be put in jail when not all the facts are known is pretty hysterical.

Apparently the gun was loaded with live rounds, but I doubt he loaded it himself. He doesn't take care of his own props. I can't stand the guy, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be fair

Handling a weapon you did not load and have not been in control of is insanely irresponsible.

Criminally negligent.

Enjoy your freakout.

You obviously have no idea what proper and responsible gun safety and handling is as is evidence from your ignorant comment. It doesn't matter if this was a movie set or not, Baldwin was irresponsible with a firearm and so was whoever handed it to him.

The guy is a leftist but job who hates anyone who is right of far left and hates the 2nd amendment. He believes that him being an actor with "prop guns" exempts him from being held accountable, but if this were to happen to one of us, he wouldn't have any sympathy and he'd be right out there screaming for more gun control, even though this has nothing to do with it. So pardon me if I have zero sympathy for this douche bag who was careless with a firearm.

Why are you defending the guy? If it was a Republican actor who did that, Baldwin would be all over it with accusations and his hypocritical anti-NRA baloney.
