I know that allo ppl can sometimes be attracted to fictional characters. But since, as you said, it’s the majority, and it’s seen as ‘normal’ for ppl to do this in addition to being attracted to irl ppl, typically those who are ace irl can claim it as an LGBTQ+ identity. I may seem a little touchy about this, but as someone who has another identity that is valid, but is lesser-known and comes across to some as mocking, I’m a little sensitive/touchy when it comes to things like this. /nm

Ok. So, this is obviously valid and even I crush on fictional characters sometimes. And it’s normal and valid. But there are a few cishetallos who think that *sometimes* crushing on fictional characters makes them LGBTQ+, which it isn’t, as you mentioned, the majority actually do it.
