Mmm. Well, I’m sorry you feel that way. For me, it’s never been personal. I’m not like your other haters, I recognize your positive attributes. You are simply saddled with a very practical problem with a very practical fix. An imperative that should be familiar to any true Christian: love thy neighbor.
I couldn’t live with myself if I viewed this impeachment ordeal as a campaign to destroy you or RUP. It was always, and still is, an invitation to you to do better. It certainly was at every point that I offered to halt the trial process.
I (mis)calculated that having built this party with a storied history and a track record of success, you’d evolved on the LGBTQ-phobic stuff, or would at least find a way to compromise and stuff it down into a box in the interests of not burning your own party down over this. That’s how most people think. They’re protective of things they’ve built.
Even now, you have the ability to stop the bleeding and even, perhaps, put RUP back together again. Others have given you hints on how to do it. I won’t spell it out for you, though. I’ve spent far too much of my time on this project.
