Here’s a big one that we, and liberals generally, need to do a better job of: communicating our commitment to freedom.
Liberals are historically very committed to freedom. Our country (speaking of America, with apologies to our many international members) was founded on it, and it’s been passed on throughout the years in our political and cultural tradition. Consider the “Four Freedoms” of Norman Rockwell, which subtly communicates the message that freedom depends to an extent on equality. You can’t have freedom without life, essentially — the things necessary for living, like food and healthcare. You can’t have one without the other. I did this meme for PRESIDENTS stream based on these paintings.

The idea that American liberals are opposed to freedom and liberty in principle is insane, and yet we hear it, over and over and over again.
One of the most effective attacks by conservatives is that we’re all trigger-happy censors who can’t tolerate any competing opinion. Now, obviously that isn’t true or we wouldn’t be on Imgflip in the first place. It’s a pretty right-skewed site most of the time. You’d go crazy within a couple hours if you couldn’t stand being exposed to conservative opinions. Much of the PRESIDENTS community is conservative or libertarian. Same, we wouldn’t be here if we weren’t comfortable interacting with them.
So let’s highlight our points of agreement with them.
When we advocate for LGBTQ rights, for instance, emphasize the fact we’re fighting for their liberty to speak freely and equally to others.
