Also, I rarely have to replace her food and water because she's super small, and she also stores a lot of food in tunnels she made in the bedding.
The bedding is for digging tunnels, and you have to change it every 2-3 months, but try to use a similar bedding every time, if you change a hampster's environment too much at once when you let them back in, their heartbeat elevates and they have a panic attack, which can sometimes be fatal. If you want to get it a companion, make sure they are siblings or have had conditioning training with each other, or else they will eat each other. (I'm not making this up, this actually happens)
If you get some Himalayan salt rocks to put in the cage, they will use them to file down their teeth which never stop growing. Also NEVER bathe them, in most cases they will die of shock if you try to do so. Hampsters are already very clean animals, but if you want to raise their happiness and cleanliness, you can get them a sand bath, which is a container they can enter and exit with sand in it, and they bathe in the sand. Reptile or chinchilla sand works.
Warning: They have very strong jaws and if you piss them off they will bite, but mine has only been in that mood twice in the 6 months we've had her, and it usually happens while she's in heat. (Hampster menstrual cycle)
I hope this information is helpful! :D
