I don't think you've understood what this even is. Your bank was ALWAYS reporting suspicious transactions of any size.

Not ALWAYS. Not until the government stepped in and told the banks by law to report suspicious activity. Nor does it make it right that bank report suspicious activity. Because many things people do with their bank accounts might look suspicious but are legal, ethical and moral.

Besides what we do with our money, the money that we earn, is NONE of the government business. The job of law enforcement is to stop crimes they see happening and punish criminals who have already committed a crime. Outside of that we are all innocent until proven guilty. That means we are protected by the 4th amendment from the government poking around into our private lives trying to find a crime.

Crime prevention is just an excuse for their constant invasion of our privacy.

The 4th Amendment. This isn't about not having anything to hide. It all about what right do they have to monitor our bank accounts? Governments have a very nasty habit of turning very evil. Or as George Washington said,

“Government is not reason, it is not eloquence,—it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant, and a fearful master; never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.”

We have defied Washington and let our government grow into a raging forest fire with no signs of it ever being put out. The Democrats just keep fanning the flames and far too many Republicans are just watching without doing anything.
