So what about the person who used the gun to hurt people? Aren’t they to blame?

since conservatism is a mental illness, yes.

So everyone who doesn’t believe what you believe is mentally ill?

liberals aren't going around shooting people.

But I haven’t shot anybody and my gun safe is full of freedom dispensers. In fact, I passed a background check for every one of them and a year long background check to get a tax stamp and LTC. I train often. Why should I be held responsible for someone else’s actions?

mental test is also in order. you'll pass, right?

Of course I would, and I would gladly comply if you could clear some things up for me:

1. Who would administer my test? Would it be my doctor or some government lackey with an agenda?

2. Where will my HIPAA information be stored, who can access it, and for what reasons?

If these questions are answered to my satisfaction I will gladly submit to a psychological evaluation before buying a gun.

Of course the government would have to administer the mental test. Who do you think should do it? The nra?

Of course not, but I would prefer that my doctor perform this test. What about my HIPAA information?

Don't have to be an NRA member to tell them how to design policy that you will agree with.

white to the NRA and tell them that.

I don’t belong to the NRA.
0 ups, 3y
But the NRA doesn’t make national policy.

ask the government when they come for your mental test.

Sorry, they can’t invade my home without a court order. Besides, there isn’t one gun in my home and even if there were it wouldn’t be registered anywhere. There would be a record of my background check and a record of sale from my friendly neighborhood dealer but that’s it. If there were such a firearm. Which there isn’t.

Don't let most conservatives hear you criticize the NRA :-)
0 ups, 3y
Most conservatives have a live-and-let-live way of thinking, just like most liberals. Only the extreme far-right wackos care about people having different opinions, just like the far-left wackos. We all have our idiots.

the gov CAN make you take a mental test.
0 ups, 3y
On what grounds? I have never hurt anyone outside of my duty to my country and I have no mental issues. How could they force me to take a psychological exam without some reason?

new gun laws will require it. too many crazy conservatives shooting the place up.
0 ups, 3y
We all have our wackos for sure, regardless of political affiliation. If that becomes the law I would submit as long as my questions are answered to my satisfaction. I want to choose my doctor, I want to know where my protected HIPAA information will be stored, and I want to know who will have access to it and for what reasons.

NRA is an industry lobbying group. they absolutely influence policy through campaign donations.
0 ups, 3y
I don’t doubt that. I don’t belong because they became more about the money than looking out for my rights.

HIPAA is a federal law. A general practitioner is not a psychologist.
0 ups, 3y
So the psychiatrist that I choose. HIPAA is meant to protect my medical information, so I have a right to know where it will be stored and who can access it and for what reasons. Any ideas about that?
