Yes, in my opinion. Squeezing the apostrophe in matches the regular form. In most fonts, like "times" (above) the letters will be spaced the same. But it might not look right in some fonts.

Good point. If the goal is to be W I D E, then I ' d go with giving the apostrophe its own spaces. like in your Example D. What concerns me is how readable that would be with double spaced words. One would have to triple-space the words. Use Courier font and
its U L T R A W I D E. (Since comments d o n ' t allow double- or triple-spacing, I tried it on this meme) So, yes, you have changed my opinion to Example D with triple-spaced words. ☻
