HI, yours is not weird at all.
We each have our own way of coping; some can be good but others are bad. Some of us make ourselves busy with studying or work, and others sing or play musical instruments. Still others resort to binge eating or harm themselves.
Each either are useful for distractions, release, control, feel good, or escape but even if some are not as harmful they can still be a negative habit if it is used too often at the expense of others or priorities.
Video games are really fun so they're great for escaping reality but one can easily play too much to where it can become a harmful addiction. Working is often a good thing, but one can so work as to ignore the problem back home.
