So I grew up on SpongeBob while most of my friends didn't. Here's my observations.
-for me SpongeBob is more of a comfort show. It reminds me of when I was little sitting in front of the TV for hours because nick was having a SpongeBob marathon. It's also the only thing me and my brother ever bonded over. My friends see it as something for a quick laugh.
-me and my brother quote the show all the time. It's kinda our thing. My friends don't quote it because they think my quotes are stupid.

Aww, that's so sweet! My brother and I quote things together constantly, too, and no one else understands. I'm sorry your friends think that, though, that's mean :(

Eh it's fine. Ngl I can't imagine my childhood with SpongeBob. Have fun re watching it now! At least you'll probably understand it more than I did as a 7 year old.
So I never watched Spongebob because my mom banned it for being "too annoying" but I feel like it's a very important part of my generation's culture so I'm watching it now at 17. Observations:; I'm glad I grew up with Backyardigans and Peep&the Big Wide World and I wouldn't trade that for anything. But Spongebob is a good show! From the very little I knew about the show, I thought Mr. Krabbs was gonna be like a classic mean terrible boss, but I was super happy to know he and Spongebob actually have a super wholesome relationship!! :D; There are SO MANY MEMES. Honestly my favorite part of the show, spotting all the scenes that I've repeatedly seen as memes.
