"Shit!" He starts the car, trying to drive as fast as he could.

Akuma is panicking- “w-we’ll just get my flamethrower and everything will be f-fine- right?!”

He walks into the hospital room, a few flowers in his hands as he throws himself into the chair beside the bed sloppily.

-a few minutes go by, and then suddenly, Akuma’s eyelids begin to flutter-

He didn't notice at first, grabbing a cake pop from his bag.

She groans and sits up, rubbing her temples

He looks over, a cake pop in the side of his mouth. His eyes widen, jumping up from his chair, hugging her tightly. "Babbee!!"

He leans back in the car, kinda panicked.

Akuma returns- there’s blood (presumably someone else’s) dripping from her mouth, and she has a bullet hole in her arm

“Trust me.” She opens her eyes, which are glowing a bright red

She kisses him before getting out of the car- bug like wings appear unfold from her back and she lets out a demonic screech

Akuma was shaking- the man kept driving after them.

He shoots another tire

He squeezes her hand tightly, sniffling.

A nurse comes in to check on her and drops her clipboard- “my goodness! You’re awake-!”

"Y-You okay?? What happened?!"

He sits next to the hospital bed, looking concerned.

A bunch of tubes are attached to Akuma- even their insurance might not be able to cover fixing what happened to her arm

A nurse enters the room

Zach gently grabs her hand, glancing at the nurse.

Nurse: “I’m afraid she’s in a coma. She might not wake up for months. . .”

"Oh- On it." He speeds to the hospital.

Eventually, Akuma pulls up to Denny’s

He slowly wakes up, looking over at her.

"Oh- Alright. I was thinking.. Denny's?"

“Sounds good.” She walks out the front door

Zach jumps a bit, a pancake hanging out of his mouth. "Mm??"

The look on her face is panicked and scared

He takes a second to stretch out, "Uh.. Well.. We could go to a diner if you'd like."

"What about them?"

“He’s after me. The second he sees me through this win- AH!”

She suddenly dodges a bullet- quite literally

He gets dressed quickly, putting on his sunglasses.

Akuma exits the bathroom in a t-shirt and jeans, along with her usual leather jacket

The waiter sits them down at a table, he glances at her.

-they decide what they want and Akuma looks out the window while they wait- suddenly, her eyes widen-

His eyes widen, shoving another pancake in his mouth before grabbing her wrist and dragging her out of the diner.

Zach sits up slowly, trying not to wake her up.

He brushes his leather coat off, getting out of the car, holding the door open for her.

“Thank you.” She gets out of the car and shuts the door behind her

He follows behind her, getting in the car.

“Alright- let’s go.” Her car smells like smoke

He raises an eyebrow, "Mm? What's wrong?"

She has her eyes on a man with orange hair outside-
“We need to leave. NOW.”

"..What's wrong?"

“Y-you see that man outside?”

He stands up, "Alright, I'm going get dressed then."

“Me too.” -also stands up-

He tilts his head slightly, "Your outfit is missing something.."

“What-?”

He takes a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket, pulling a lighter out with it. "Want one?"

He runs his fingers through his hair, sighing.

"You're welcome." He kisses her forehead, grabbing his keys off the counter.

“I can drive. Where are we going?”

He goes to his closet and gets dressed.

-She changes in the bathroom-

"Mornin'." He kisses her forehead.

-smile- “what do you wanna do today?”

"Of course." He smiles.

They walk into the restaurant

"Thanks babe." He mumbles. Cuffing his hand around the lighter and lighting it.

“No prob.” She opens her window a tiny crack and takes a puff

He nods, leaning back with his legs spread wide open, which was his normal sitting pose. "Yeah.."

She pauses shining the weapon to sit next to him- “you sure? Your eyes look red.”

He yawns, stretching out.

Akuma sits down next to him

He shakes his head, "High.."

“Oh. Alright. At least you’re not sick.” She kisses him on the forehead and goes back to polishing her flamethrower

Zach nods, "Don't wanna set the apartment on fire.."

She chuckles- “agreed.” She goes to put the flamethrower in it’s glass case in her room

He chuckles softly, leaning against her shoulder.

She smiles at him before holding up her weapon- “beautiful.”

He opens his eyes, wrapping both his arms around her.

-snuggle- “I love you.”

He leans back, closing his eyes and sighing.

She locks the case, and humming a melody re enters the living room

He nods, gently kissing her cheek.

-still smiling- “I’m gonna go put this back in it’s case, mk?”

He smiles, "Love ya too."
