You probably googled that. According to google, tetris has over 500 million copies sold, but that's referring to all of the tetris variants combined. The original tetris only had 35 million copies sold. Meanwhile there's Minecraft, which has 200 million, and that number is still growing.

No it doesn't. I think you're thinking the different platforms it's available on. The only different versions of Minecraft are Java and Bedrock, which thats still only 2 different variants compared to the 215 that Tetris has.
