When I took cultural anthropology back in the day we would have said "gender roles." I don't remember hearing the expression "cultural construct," although the concept was around.

Gender is a social construct... I don't understand what you mean by the second part, but it seems hypocritical to say both things.

They are supposed to be quotes from 2 people. The intended joke is that what the second person said is an example of what the first person said, although they don't realize it.

That is a person being male or female and not being a "real" man or woman.
