You know, I cannot find evidence that ISIS was "driven out of Afghanistan," "under Trump's watch." I can find him taking credit for the destruction of their "Caliphate," which was in another country. He did issue orders that the military requested, to fight and defeat much of ISIS' operation in Syria and Iraq. He publicly took credit for that on many occasions. I cannot see why he would be shy about inroads made against them in Afghanistan, if any were made.
The best analysis of the fight against ISIS under Trump I could find was written by Robin Simcox, the "Margaret Thatcher Fellow," at the very conservative Heritage Foundation. He said, " However, the war is not over. The threat has mutated and will continue to mutate. ISIS 2018 will launch an insurgency in its former territory. While the loss of the “Caliphate” damages the ISIS brand, it maintains sufficient cachet to inspire attacks abroad. ISIS also has options for alternative safe havens that could allow it to recover. Even outside physical domains, ISIS has access to electronic spaces where it can continue recruitment efforts."
Mr. Simcox and I may disagree on political issues, but we agree that the facts support the conclusion that the treat of violence from terrorist organizations, like ISIS, will never permanently vanish. People like this have been attacking Israel since before the modern version of that country came into existence more than 70-years ago. They attacked again this month. Israel tries to minimize public over-reaction to these attacks. They have people who are detached with haste to attack sites to restore them to pre-attack status, so that people don't dwell on the issue. Israel cannot afford the divisive political hysteria the Tangerine Tyrant thrives on. I don't expect you to accept their model, since you are a "Typewriter Terrorist," attacking for the sake of attacking and to promote the Cult that is focused on destroying our Constitutional Democratic Republic.
