Things to note about the “new” Afghanistan:; This is the Taliban. They are a primitive, theocratic, “law-and-order” movement that rejects modernity and doesn’t respect women, human rights, or democracy at all. However, they seem to only be interested in imposing their rule in Afghanistan, and in trying to bring stability, they have cooperated with America to a limited extent. If you’re looking for analogies, they are like the MAGA movement at its worst (Jan. 6 Rioters). This is ISIS-K. They seek to impose a hardcore interpretation of Islam not just in Afghanistan, but around the world, including in Western countries. They would kill every non-Muslim in the world if they had the chance, and many Muslims too. They were behind the suicide bombings at the Kabul airport, seek chaos, and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. They are more like hardcore Neo-Nazis — and they and the Taliban hate each other.
