The communist party HATES that America is a beacon of freedom. They hated it when President Reagan called us the "Shining City on the Hill" and have been fighting the notion ever since. What is happening now is exactly what the communists want to see. The cost of this - in stature and treasure - is unimportant and should be ignored. To bring the United States of America to it's knees is necessary to allow them to impose their socialist/communist system on the compliant masses. The Communist party is the FORMER Democrat party.
