They're only stating that original and actually funny memes hardly get the front page spotlight anymore or get enough rep, while the ones that are on the front page are not even creative or high effort---sometimes even an opinion---and still manage to make enough upvotes to reach the front page. Worst of all, there's nothing but senseless controversy because of memes like this, what happened to the actual good content of ImgFlip from back then that the mods are trying to surpress?

that isn't true, some of the front-page content is really good. Rather, I'd argue, that the situation you are talking about existed a month ago- in fact, unhilarious memes dominated the front page for a very long time during the first half of this year, starting around February when I felt wary about even opening Imgflip. I can see it recovering.

Okay, I actually do see that, I bet some of us memers are trying to recover from that distressful period of time. Memes are becoming more funnier as I see and content is regaining originality. Even so, it still doesn't mean that toxic users on ImgFlip (and especially on social media in general) have ceased to publicise biased opinions and still make it to the front page. They're practically slowed, however abundant. But yes, I do recall a recent revitalization in the fun stream.

I agree. Problems always exist, and one must face them. I'm kinda proud of myself that I didn't delete my Imgflip account around May-June of this year when the platform was filled with toxic users and bad content.
