HIPPA is regarding to disclosure of medical information period! I'm a telecom worker and we even have to be within HIPPA compliance for jobsites. The distinction is private disclosure versus public disclosure, and checkpoints and asking this information in a non-private setting are indeed a HIPPA violation.

It protects your privacy when a third party is involved, you know like an insurance carrier, or an insurance clearinghouse for a quote, or a hospital or clinic.

We had a 5s, with a station side definitely, the definity used isdn STATION SIDE for early video phones. That switch was still in service when I left in 1999. We were just doing VOIP between remote sites on channelized isdn...this was before QOS...uggg.
The definite then had a lan card that we could lush to IP stations to alert the desktop for a screen pop. Yea, I was in on those first proof of concepts for screen pop and VOIP. So, I have no issue with my showing my age, I have been doing this stuff for a LONG TIME.
