Aha, someone finally asked, at least I can't recall someone else asking before...

It was an internal thing mainly, but then we made the approval queue public to all stream moderators, and alas the cdn views remain.

CDN views are when a view registers on our CDN image asset, like the .jpg file, whereas a "view" is a view of the image webpage, like the one we're on now: imgflip.com/i/5jxksb. CDN views can happen when the image itself is viewed from other Imgflip pages, not just the image page, or also from other websites entirely like when shared socially.

I asked that question once, didn't really like the answer I got back then.

I think cdn is content delivery network. There was one cdn (the user who created, edited, then submitted) and four views in terms of page actions (Generate Meme, Update, Update, Submit Image)
