Assuming that the Democrats are Socialists like Nazis are socialists is a claim made by Marjorie Taylor Greene and is a toxic indicator of echo-chamber speak without any evidence to support that actual reading up on the subject was done. I've already pointed this out, and even the description of the red patch is in my bio on my profile.

also that last part is pretty true for the most part, Hitler was authortarian right(almost completely authortarian) and Stalin is almost strictly authoritarian on the left

Hitler and the nazis were syncretists; economically left but culturally and politically right.

i'm not a huge fan of socialism because of the "free" healthcare. in reality, it'd just be paid in taxes, look at any country that uses that uses socialism, e.g the U.K, i hear their taxes reached a record couple months back but idk. Although it does seem to work pretty well, otherwise we'd be one of the few countries left if it didn't work. Too many people think socialism is communism and it makes no sense tbh. Also even with free healthcare it takes forever to actually get that care, as to where in our country we get our care when we need it but have hella expensive bills. take care fellows ;)

I don't agree with all the tenets of socialism, much less communism, but free healthcare is a no brainer. Healthy people can work and earn money, sick people can't as much, if at all. Therefore health must necessarily come before wealth.

Exactly. Leaving citizens to the wolves is archaic.

"Takes forever to get that care."

In America, I have pretty good health insurance. One of the "Premium" memberships by Providence. I've also had Kaizer in the past. I don't get to choose my doctor and it takes a couple months to see someone because of said limited choice on who is a match for my insurance provider. This is a misleading claim that America has fast care, and freedom of choice.

Aussie here. We pay less towards healthcare than you.

Tbh if Sanders didn’t use the word socialism I’d probably support him

So your problem is a word. Not policy, a word.

Almost everyone has irrational triggers. The trick is to not let them run your life or ruin your decision making.

most people like being social

Here's what's funny

Countries with Universal healthcare -> Europe, Canada, UK...and almost everyone else
Canada, UK, Europe -> not socialist (per most conservatives)
Single payer healthcare -> Socialism
People who want single payer here -> Socialists

So, even when we ask for programs that are working in supposedly non-socialist countries, we are labeled socialist. I think all the 'isms' are nuts if implemented as initially described. Every country in the world is implementing a mixed economy at this point. The label has lost all meaning.

I'm just against the government taking over too much stuff. There's not a lot that the government can do better than the people. All the pictures of a super-crowded Ellis Island are from a time before social security, welfare, and Obamacare. Homelessness and hunger were handled by the community. Now, everyone thinks it's supposed to be the government's job and it's raging out of control. Great job!

selective or made up memory much? Explain why communities lynched folks, it wasn't because they were trying to solve homelessness dumbass

You've apparently never lived in a community. How many of your neighbors do you know? I got my first kiss on the way home from grade school, and then walked the rest of the way home. I came through the door and my Mom asked me, "What's her name?" When some neighbors lost their job, people pitched in groceries and helped network to find a new position. I never saw a homeless person until I moved to California.

Well I never saw a homeless person until I drove through Detroit. Seeing people living in burnt out buildings was shocking. Does that make your argument wrong? No. Good government in a democratic country is intended to ensure each citizen gets treated equally under the law and laws and regulations are necessary to protect everyone. Over time and successive authoritarian governments (both sides lol) have diluted what it means to be a democracy and its now a shell that caters to corporate interests (or should I say "people") and wealth. Tell someone working three minimum wage jobs that they are not contributing and see what they say - the solution is equitable taxation, not letting the wealthy pay zero taxes!

Even I don't pay taxes on some things, because I am leaving the invested money in the business. That allows the business to operate and employ people and grow. The gains are "unrealized" to use the correct description according to the IRS. If I take the money out of the business so that I can spend it, then it becomes a realized gain and gets taxed. That's the law. If a person who controls a million dollar business or a billion dollar business just let's the company run, and takes no money out of it, the gains are unrealized and not taxed. Take money out to spend for yourself, and it definitely gets taxed. People who have never run a business or invested in a business don't seem to understand that being a billionaire doesn't mean you have an account at the bank with that many dollars in it. It's assets like buildings and equipment and information and patents that you can't spend. As soon as you sell an asset and put that money in the bank, it's definitely taxable.
