The vaccine works.
However, it isn't 100% effective. Nothing ever is, when such interactions are involved. For everyone to have the safest time? Be vaccinated, social distance, mask up, everyone.

And just like seatbelts, you get an unfortunate hit you are gone, but better to wear one statistically.
