It can be like that. My great uncle turned into a drug dealer when he was young. He had the same parentage as my grandmother (because they were siblings). My great grandfather was the typical 1950's father. Loyal family, faithful, army veteran, would spank you if you misbehaved, and my grandmother raised my mother, who raised me the same way. A good, polite person of Catholic faith. (My faith has diminished during Covid because I stopped going to church)
My great uncle on the other hand, had his side of the family run down into the crime ring, thanks to his dealing, and both of my cousins who are his children, have been to prison before, because they also got into the dealing of illegal drugs.
