Being a responsible adult in a pandemic doesn't always necessitate getting a vaccine.

Though if someone wants one then I encourage them to get it.

Which is the more responsible choice when considering the safety of others and yourself?

I'll give you a hint, it's not skipping the vaccine.

I've made it almost two years without contracting or infecting anyone with COVID by responsibly following CDC guidelines as well as maintaining lifelong hygiene habits despite multiple families whom I consider good friends (and with whom I had sporadic contact) contracting the virus from each other. I look forward to getting the COVID vaccine when I'm ready, but until then, you can take your oh-so-subtle insult and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Implying I'm irresponsible when that is entirely untrue.

Now that I've thought about what you said, I found a way to look at this more closely....

If the virus comes to your town and it is surging, hospitals are overloaded and the like. Would you then get a vaccine even if it was too early?

When, about a year ago, the virus DID spike in my town (due to a "freedom concert" that was held by about 250 unmasked souls) and DID load local hospitals to capacity, I was especially careful to only leave the house when I legitimately needed to, make doubly sure to wear my heavy buff (as far as masks go, very effective) tightly and to be very conscious about not touching something or someone if I didn't need to (I.E when shopping don't pick something up, look at it, then put it back). This is on top of my normal hygiene (Use germ-x when you get back in the car before touching anything, don't touch your face before washing your hands, etc).

That said, while I do make memes regarding these people, they still aren't directed at you. I keep our disposition purely through our conversations. I wouldn't make memes about you.

I admit, that all these people dying needlessly has more more irritable than usual, that and a teething, needy toddler. Sorry you got caught in the cross fire between those things. Really.

Best of luck with the kiddo, one day I hope to be blessed with a few of my own. :)

As far as your tone goes...You are all good. I truly hope I don't come across as unmoved by the suffering COVID has inflicted upon the world. I'm just trying to ensure we keep our heads on straight and adopt sensible approaches to policy that both protect and accommodate everyone.

Folks on both sides of this issue can be and are overzealous, but that at least means you care about what you're arguing for.
