I actually don't have a problem with this IF they take away the tax that we're paying at the pump.

The issue that they're trying to address with this is that drivers of all electric vehicles don't pay the tax that the drivers of ICE vehicles are to pay for the upkeep of the roads. So, if everyone pays the same mileage tax, and ICE drivers don't pay twice, then I'm fine with it.

The idea that politicians will willingly give up a tax that's in place is a hell of a long shot, however.
