For those who don't know, Applin is not an apple, it's actually a worm using an apple as shelter. A 'wyrm' is a type of dragon. A 'lindwurm' is a mythological dragon that lives inside mountains.
So basically, Applin is a dragon worm living inside an apple, hence the Dragon typing.
