Hi Octavia, yes I do.

In leading an army there cannot be two commanders, or ruling a kingdom there cannot be two kings. If there were, division will most likely result.

And a woman cannot lead a family.

Now this we'll be arguing over until His second coming. If you've read the meme above that is the chiefest reason for my position. Thus I will simply say the other reasons why I believe women ought to submit to her husband & leave it at that. It will be an all too familiar argument for you

Generally, men are more decisive when making decisions as women are in making careful ones. You can counter that because she is generally more careful, thus she is better in making decisions. However, in the heat of the moment or in battle, decisiveness is vital for the survival of the family.

Men, are also born protectors & better suited for combat. Women can also fight, & generally are faster than men, but typically does not have the advantage of height, weight, & therefore leverage as a man does. She also does not have the strength of a man; & while she has faster reflexes, she cannot outrun him in terms of speed.

Finally, she is born to rear children made clear in her physiology. As she is more thoughtful, she is also more patient & nurturing than a man.

But if he is to shoulder the burden of children, he will not be as free in making decisions as his mind will be on the children & not on the matters outside the caregiving. He will be burdened with two jobs; rearing children (besides housekeeping) & his employment.

Now if women shoulders the burden of a man she will not be as effective as a defender than a man & She will not make decisions as quickly as a man. She could always take milk out of her in a bottle, but it will not be as timely or comfortable for her children if a man feeds them.

Finally, she does have to obey her husband. She must because he is a leader & by her submission order & stability is established.

You see this in the military where there is a commander & then a sergeant. If the commander makes the decision, it is the sergeant's job to have all under him to comply. However, if the latter disobeys or frequently argues then the opposite will happen as sides will be taken & "the house divided".

But order & stability is even more important for children as they develop. Not that parents should be barred from fighting at all, but when they constantly fighting then their world become less certain & their trust, wanes.

The above meme was a counter to what appeared to be against the the biblical family order. I didn't want what was presented to be the representative view of Christians on this stream, let alone, the view of scripture.

I've written to that person a response that person the biblical position, and the following is my reply to:

".... I have previously looked at your other memes and it is decidedly against male Patriarchy. Interestingly you also do not respond to your critics.

Of course there are different kinds of patriarchy, and we both assuredly agree that the abusiveness, cruelty, and arrogance is not biblical at all. Husbands should never hit their wives (1 Timothy 3:2-3), treat them as slaves, nor should they consider themselves as above them in terms of worth (1 Peter 3:7).

With that said, are you against Complementarianism (1 Corinthians 11:3)? Are you against the notion of wives having only one primary job, and that is to raise children & furthermore, are you against the barring of women from Pastoral and Eldership (1 Timothy 2:11-15)?

Because all this is in scripture.

I agree that women have been mistreated, abused, & underestimated, using the regulations to their advantage, but past abuses doesn't make the gender roles prescribed wrong as they were not the product of male patriarchy but by God Himself (1 Peter 1:20-21). ....".

The male headship and authority should never be abusive or done with arrogance, but his position should not be done away with. It is God's model of family, indeed, it is reflective of the Trinity as shown in the scropture above, but more so in Isaiah 48:16-17:

16 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
17 Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
- Isaiah 48:16-17
