does anybody know why some playstation 4s can run legacy edition while other ps4s cannot?

I have a ps4 and am able to play the legacy edition, which only has the aquatic update but has working minigame servers, but my friend cannot play minecraft legacy editions and its minigames

What Is the difference of Java and bedrock edition

Bedrock has worse servers, more microtransactions, emotes, no hardcore mode, and more broken redstone. I've only listed a few things, there are way more.

Bedrock runs on C++, which makes it smoother, without Optifine, MoreFPS etc
