It annoys me when I go to approval queue of streams I mod and constantly seeing images flagged for no reason

If users can be banned from streams, them it stands to reason they should also be banned from flagging content on certain streams. Since flag-spamming can be a way for trolls to exact revenge on mods, when their other ways of interacting with the stream are closed off.

Part of being a MOD. Flagging memes NSFW when they have no illicit pictures, just an idea that they do not agree with or seems dirty to them. Kids are like Tipper Gore these days with the lyric bans of the 1980's.

who_am_i has it correct. Dealing with flags, whether they are legitimate or spam, is just part of what you have to deal with as a moderator. I can certainly emphasize with you though, we site mods have to deal with a lot of bogus flags as well. One thing I will point out is if you get an account that has flagged a lot of content (like 50+ flags) in a very short amount of time, get in contact with a Community or Global Moderator ASAP as they could be running a bot or algorithm, or doing some other sort of hacker stuff.

In the LGBTQ stream someone is using comment flags to harass straight ally mods, they are doing it without an account so there is no way to stop them.

Yeah the flag system is subject to abuse for sure. I still air on the side of letting people flag as they please, as not everyone wants to create an Imgflip account and they can still report questionable content to the mods. Some bad eggs will abuse it of course, but I think the ability to remove peoples’ option to flag would be subject to even more abuse, as people could ban anyone they want from flagging, which hinders the Sitewide Mods’ abilities to take action against content.
